The Month of November

The month of November, this year, has been recorded as the fastest in the history of College Heights.  With all of the activities, games day, sports, clubs, events in the cafe and gyms, assemblies, we all feel that the month has just flown by, the teachers that is.

What is your viewpoint?  Name at least 3 things that you have enjoyed this month.  What really made them exciting with you?  And was there anything else that you would have liked to have done in the month of November?

Today is the Academic Awards Day

Today, many of the students at Heights are going to receive an award because they have acheived recognition in a specific subject or in activities that they have been involved in throughout the year.  They have acheived a goal that they have set for themselves. 

If you were to set a goal for yourself this year, where would it be and how are you going to acheive it?

Pizza Friday!!!

Fridays are almost always a pizza day for my family.  In the evening we relax and watch a rented video and enjoy a couple of delicious pizzas, ordered from Domino's Pizza.  We often order the same pizzas:  one large Extravaganzza and one large Brooklyn Style pizza.  But eventually we get tiered of the same pizzas and would like to make our own custom pizza.

Thanksgiving Celebration!

Thanksgiving Day is a harvest festival. Traditionally, it is a time to give thanks for the harvest and express gratitude in general. It is a holiday celebrated primarily in Canada and the United States.

Security

Security is a common factor in everyday life which makes our community a safe place to be.  Throughout my life so far, security has changed enormously, from simply the security guard or police officer on duty to hidden video cameras and motion detectors.  With increasing security technology, security makes our community a safe place to live and move around in.

Beating the Flu Virus

We are currently being affected by the Fall strain of Swine Flu.  The virus is in the system and we are all trying to beat the flu virus.  I am washing my hands regularly and taking a naturopathic remedy called Thymuline to ward off the virus.  At Heights, we are cleaning surfaces regularly to prevent any flu virus germs from being passed onto someone else.  Hopefully we are all doing our best to ward off the H1N1 virus.

The Ultimate Computer

If you won the computer of your choice, which one would you get? Include 3 specific features (other than ones covered so far) that you feel would be beneficial to you. Think about quality on the screen.

I would pick the HP Pavilion DV3-1075ca Notebook PC because it has an ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics processor for intense graphics on the screen, a Super Multi 8x DVD Double Layer burner and a brilliant 13.3-inch WXGA high-definition widescreen. I feel that all of these features would perform very well with some of my high intensity games and movies.

First Week

On Wednesday, we took a tour of the equipment in C107. We discussed how the computer is like the brain, how it thinks and stores information in its memory.  Think about that information when you answer this question on your own blog.
