HAPPINESS...what does this word mean to you?

This morning I woke up at 5:30 and found that I couldn't sleep, so I got up and watched the TV. I only get 5 channels on a good day, and I chose to watch TVO (TV Ontario). They were talking about HAPPINESS and what it means to different people. Also how different it is from one person to another. It turns out that it is the result of many different things inside you and around you.

What does this word mean to you and how do you think it is affected by how you feel and what is going on around you?

Check out the TVO website if you would like to get more information on this subject and read about a computer gamer who is developing cool global games on the Internet - Jane McGonigal - see Janes full biography to see what it takes to become a computer game developer.

Wacky Uses - Alka Seltzer

Today I heard an interesting bit of info on the radio about "Alka Seltzer".

What is Alka Seltzer?

  • an antacid and pain relief medicine
  • FAST RELIEF
  • Good remedy for heartburn, acid indigestion, sour stomach with headache, body aches and pains

The point on the radio was, what else can you do with a couple of Alka Seltzers?

According to Joey Green, you can also use Alka Seltzer tablets to clean a toilet, clean a vase, polish jewelry, unclog a drain and soothe insect bites...wow, and it's also good for your stomach!

Question of the day: Do you know of anything else that is so multipurpose (think duct tape)?

** Checkout "Wacky Uses" if you can't think of one ;-)

See Joey Green's site - Wackyuses.com

And you've got to see his video too, it's hilarious!

Christmas Time at Heights

Christmas time at Heights is a time for giving. We raise a tremendous amount of money each year for the needy at Christmas, as well as gathering food donations for the food bank in Guelph.

It is also a time for celebrating and enjoying ourselves and our friends over the next two weeks and into the holidays.

What does Christmas mean to you?

What does COMMUNITY mean to us?

Our communities are a very important part of our lives. One of the communities that we are already involved in is the school community of College Heights.

Being involved in your community can make your life much more enjoyable. You get to know more people in your community, make new friends along the way and have fun doing it.

Volunteering some of your time is definitely a part of our everyday lives in our communities these days. I am currently volunteering some of my time to the community theatre group as a sound technician. I am providing the sound and my experience to plays going on in my community theatre.

How would you like to volunteer some of your time to your community, or are you already doing that? Tell us how.

Halloween...ooh, scary!!!

Well, let's see, my greatest experience on Halloween night was going to my neighbour's house, where they built up a grave yard on their front lawn, with coffins on the grass. We walked toward the house and all of a sudden, a coffin opened and, wow, that was frightening as a body sat up.

We moved along quickly and all of a sudden we saw Jason on the roof of the house, goalie mask on his face and a hatchet in his hand, glaring down at us. We got our treats and turned to see another gruesome looking creature, glaring at us...we ran as fast as we could and he followed us up the street.

What a blast, as scary music filled the air! It was very scary!
